2. Up to 24Mb download speeds. Up to 24Mb speed is subject to a line test and will depend on various factors, for example, proximity to your local phone exchange and local availability. If your line does not support up to 24Mb, we will order the fastest speed available on your line.
3. Usage limits apply to some tariffs. Usage includes all information downloaded over your connection, as well as all information uploaded. Over usage is charged at £1 per Gb. Fair Usage Policy applicable to customers who are on unlimited usage. Terms and Conditions apply.
4. This offer is available to new, first time sign-ups. Wireless compatible computer or adapter required. The Wireless modem is a Thomson 585v8 and you must have an Ethernet port on your PC, Laptop or MAC for it to work if you are not utilizing the wireless capability. 6. The wireless modem included in the offer remains the property of UTV Connect at all times. If you end the service within the Minimum Term and you did not pay the full price for the hardware when you placed your order, then you will be liable to pay for the hardware. The hardware fee if cancelling within 6 months of commencing the contract will be £40.00, or £20.00 if cancelling after 6 months of commencing the contract but within Minimum Term.
7. New line installation charge of £60 if required.
8. Minimum contract 18 months unless otherwise stated. The fee to cease a Broadband service is £25.00.

What factors will affect the broadband speed I can receive?

Up to 24Mb Broadband uses new technology to automatically provide the fastest speed that your phone line can physically support, up to a maximum of 24Mb (Megabits per second).

The actual broadband speed achievable over your phone line depends on its length, the length and quality of any phone wiring in your home, the specification of your modem or router, the speed of connection between your computer and modem or router (Ethernet and wireless are faster than USB), the speed of your computer, and whether all your broadband microfilters are correctly installed.

If you live close to your exchange, you could get the maximum connection speed of 24Mb, reducing to 12Mb, 10Mb, 8 Mb, 6Mb, 4Mb, 2Mb or less, the further away you are.

Your broadband speed will also vary during the day depending on how busy the network is, the speed of the Internet and of websites you are visiting, whether you’re sharing your connection with others in your home, and whether you have any spyware or hardware slowing down your computer.
